I tend to start a new regime and get bored after a week or so. Also being tall has meant that I've managed to hide my weight gain.

What's different this time? I plan to use my stubborn streak to my advantage! I know my weaknesess and know come next Monday I'll be bored, so I'm going to counter this by setting weekly challenges to make the longer term goal fly by.

went up to the moors for a week (or the'moo-wers', as they call it up there!) did loads of walking. and did the bridestones walk at dalby.

I feel a lot fitter from it all, just don't seem to have lost any weight :(

am back at my gym tomorrow, can't wait (this isn't sarcasm!)

I've been working away from home a lot recently which has had an effect on my diet, but now I'm back for a while I intend to correct that.

I finished the 10 week running plan and should apparently be able to run 5k now....still not convinced!

Have signed up to run in the Adidas Women's Challenge in Hyde Park in September. It's 5k, am hoping to run all the way round and not walk, so hopefully working on doing that in the next few months will help the weight fall off.

If anyone feels like donating to the British Heart Foundation....www.justgiving.com/carlathomas

I still hate running though! ;o)

Have had super-ace week this week!
Have started jogging with my house mate round our block, to be honest I think we do more laughing than proper jogging, but it's a start!
Jeans are now loose and a trip into town is in order!
yay!
How you doing?

Have had a good week. Have started running again. Recommend reading "Running Made Easy" if you hate running as much as I do! I'm hoping to stick to the plan and love the idea of daily and weekly treats for keeping to the plan.

Have stuck to my eating plan and have found managed to keep snacking to a minimum. However, had one bad day, and it nearly all fell apart. However, I ate my chocolate and got back on the plan instead of being discouraged by my weakness. Am definitely feeling more in control!

Tomorrow is spin and body pump! sounds like torture to most, but it's a great opp to get rid of the stress of the week!

hey, good to hear from you. i am a member of a gym, but am living very far away from it at the moment, so i do a lot of walking, use full bottles of water for weights and i use the bottom of my stairs for step. it's a bit of a DIY gym, but it's all i've got until i move back home in june. i'm also doing the paul mckenna weight loss system 'i can make you thin'. it's not something i would normally try because it looks a bit gimmicky, but i was recommended it by a friend and it actually works. it's quite amazing really!
how you doing? are you a member of a gym? what classes do you find work best for you?

Hi Carla,
That's great that you've signed up with a personal trainer...i've not done that before, you'll have to let me know how it goes. When i signed up for podfitness, i really enjoyed it. it really re-motivated me to start excercising and to push myself further..though, granted i'm not using it anymore at the moment..
that's great that you are looking for different methods to reinspire..sometimes all you need a change of perspective and momentum to get back in the swing of things!! J x

Very strange! This week all my measurements, apart from my biceps have gone up! On the positive side, my weight has dropped again. So am going to have to make do this week with less weight instead of trimmer body parts!

Tried yoga for the first time on thursday. Apart from hurting the soles of my feet, I wasn't sure it was effective....the last two days I can barely walk! Think it challenged my muscles more than I realised at the time. Can't wait for next week!

hey carla,
thanks for your encouragement and the link to sparkpeople.
its got some interesting articles..not sure if i would track my meals using their site..but you definitely have got me thinking more carefully of exactly WHAT i'm eating! you're right - it can be deceptive...there are actually quite a few calories in a soy latte! haha..its good to be aware.
if you are getting bored of your workouts why don't you vary it with podfitness..i love how you can mix it up..i am more inclined to do the elliptical but its much easier to run for long periods with the encouragement of podfitness!!
you seem like you're doing great tho! ..well on the way. great job!! :))
